**** Feb. 27, 2024 is a PRIMARY election.  A primary election is an election that narrows the field of candidates before an election for office. When voting during a Primary Election, you may only vote for candidates from ONE PARTY.

To save you time at the polls, it is a good idea to review the ballot prior to election day. SAMPLE BALLOTS are available at the Township office and on-line at michigan.gov/vote.

**** Absent Voter (AV) ballots are available through the Township Clerk's office beginning January 18th.Voters on the permanent ballot mailing list who have selected to automatically receive ballots for each election have been mailed a Ballot Selection Form.  Permanent Ballot Voters must decide whether they would like to receive a Republican Ballot, a Democratic Ballot or a Local Only Ballot, then sign and return the Ballot Selection Form to the Clerk's office in order to receive their ballot.  **Please note, the only Local Proposal for this election is for those residents within the South Lyon School District.**  Individuals on the permanent ballot list who prefer NOT to vote in this primary election should write under the ballot options that they wish to not vote in this election, and return their signed ballot selection form.  Choosing not to vote in the February 2024 primary election will not remove you from the permanent ballot mailing list.  Ballots will still be mailed for future elections.Voters on the permanent application mailing list who have chosen to receive a ballot application for each election will receive the AV Ballot Application as usual with the ballot options listed.  Permanent Application Voters must decide whether they would like to receive a Republican Ballot, a Democratic Ballot or a Local Only Ballot, then sign and return the AV Ballot Application to the Clerk's office in order to receive their ballot.   **Please note, the only Local Proposal for this election is for those residents within the South Lyon School District.**
