Members Needed: Planning Commission, ZBA, Parks & Recreation Board, Land Preservation Committee
WE NEED YOU!!!Northfield Township currently has vacancies on the following Boards and Commissions:
- Planning Commission: 2 terms expiring Dec. 31, 2023.The Planning Commission advises Township officials on matters of planning and development of the community, approves site plans, and makes recommendations for land-use and the environment. The Planning Commission meets at 7:00pm on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month. Planning Commission members serve 3-year terms and are appointed by the Supervisor with the approval of the Board of Trustees. Planning Commission members receive a stipend of $100 per meeting.
- Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA): 1 member term & 1 alternate term expiring Dec. 31, 2023.
The ZBA has the ability to grant variances or exemptions to the Zoning Ordinance in instances where there is evidence of hardship. The ZBA meets at 7:00pm on the 3rd Monday of each month (as needed). ZBA members serve 3-year terms. ZBA members receive a stipend of $100 per meeting.
- Parks & Recreation Board: 1 member vacancy, term ending 7/1/26.The Parks & Recreation Board is a dedicated group of residents and business owners working to establish a vision for future parks and recreation opportunities in Northfield Township, and developing projects that provide a tangible benefit to our community. Members are appointed by the Board of Trustees by recommendation from the Parks & Recreation Board, and each member serves a 3-year term. The Parks & Recreation Board meets on the third Thursday of each month at 7:00pm.
- Land Preservation Committee: 2 member vacancies
The Land Preservation Committee is a committee of residents put together by the Board of Trustees to look at ways to preserve agricultural and natural lands within the township. The LPC meets at 6:00pm on the 1st Monday of the month.
